Bunkering is refuelling from and for ships. Both in Antwerp and Zeebrugge you can easily and safely fuel up with alternatives such as LNG or hydrogen and conventional fuels such as low-sulphur oil.
Conventional bunkering in Port of Antwerp-Bruges
It is estimated that ships bunker more than 6 million tonnes of conventional fuels annually in Port of Antwerp-Bruges. Conventional fuels are, for example, low-sulphur oil or gas oil. You can refuel these anywhere in the port through an authorised bunker dealer.
In Antwerp
All bunkering operations must be reported to the Harbour Master's Office. Your authorised bunker dealer or operator must submit an application to toelatingen.hkd@portofantwerpbruges.com.
In Zeebrugge
For more information on all the rules for bunkering, consult the port regulations. You can contact the authorised bunker dealers at hkd@portofantwerpbruges.com.

DownloadLNG bunkering in Port of Antwerp-Bruges
You can easily and safely bunker LNG (liquefied natural gas) in Antwerp and Zeebrugge, both by truck and by bunker ship. LNG significantly reduces harmful particulate matter, SOx and NOx emissions and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. LNG is the perfect fuel as a stepping stone to a low-carbon future.
In Antwerp
LNG bunkering is not permitted everywhere. The map shows the permitted LNG bunkering activities in the Antwerp port area.
You can request authorisation for LNG bunkering operations at toelatingen.hkd@portofantwerpbruges.com using form HKD 38 A (truck-to-ship) or HKD 38 B (ship-to-ship).
In Zeebrugge
LNG bunkering is not permitted everywhere. In the port regulation you can consult which LNG bunkering activities are authorised in the Zeebrugge port area.

Hydrogen, methanol or electricity bunkering
Port of Antwerp-Bruges is working hard to offer a comprehensive range of low carbon fuels including LNG, methanol, hydrogen and electric power.
Hydrogen can be bunkered in Antwerp on a small scale at the CMB fuel station in the Kattendijk dock in the city port.
