What effect will the merger have on the tariff structure for concessions at both ports?
According to the principle of a landlord port, Port of Antwerp-Bruges owns and manages the land in the Antwerp and Zeebrugge port area and makes this public domain available to companies on the basis of domain concessions. Port of Antwerp-Bruges receives compensation for making those sites available. Concession rates are composed of several criteria and are set in the tariff regulations.
As part of the merger between the two port platforms, we launched an exercise to simplify the process and leverage the complementarity of the platforms. In this exercise, we are looking at market conformity, effectiveness and structure of pricing.
For the moment, both port platforms will continue to maintain their own concession policies and there will be no change in prices or methods of operation.
